Gyn Horn

Gyn was born and brought up in Kent. She lived on the outskirts of a small village called Harvel. As her mother came from Cornwall, every summer was spent with her family surfing the Atlantic breakers in Porthtown near Redruth.

From as far back as she can remember she has been a dab hand with a pencil - first caricaturing her classmates and teachers and later work colleagues!

After leaving the Medway College of Design she went into producing audio visual presentations for the teaching of English to foreign students.

Later she started up her own business where as well as producing caricatures, she created and made promotional items such as mousemats, designing and making wallclocks - of which she won an award for, and general illustration and design. Gyn also produced comic books of which one series found it's way over to Israel!.

One of her particular strong points is doing 'Spitting Image' style caricatures of people and another is her ability to produce excellent portraits of peoples pets. When commencing with the idea of this website she thought it would be a really good idea to be able to offer to folks these services alongside with some of her cards and prints featuring many of her designs and photography.

As well as being a talented artist Gyn is also a musician/songwriter and used to play the drums with a Hastings rock band - look out for No Exit if ever you are in this part of the world!

With her able team working with her she has been able to produce a rather 'different' kind of 'art 'n card' website. Some of the designs are true wackiness unleashed - and that is an understatement!

Take a look through and see! All the cards and prints are inclusive of postage as well!

Gyn and all want you to really enjoy this site!

Mabel Wainwright

Mabel originally hailed from Cumbria. Her family primarily ran a sheep farm but they were also known for their work amongst the local artists and sculptors.

Mabel herself soon showed considerable talent and at the age of 12 put on her first successful exhibition.

By the age of 15 her family sold up the sheep farm and moved to Worthing on the south coast.

After gaining a degree in graphic illustration Mabel went on to work for a local advertising company. Finding the work as she put it 'soul destroying' she decided to start up her own business and soon found that she was doing rather well at it!

Some of her artwork is what you would call rather wacky and it is this 'rather different' work that we are, at present featuring on this site.

She has recently undertaken a 'bathroom' series (which we feature). This was as a result of a series of jobs with an eccentric London author. She was intrigued by the material that he produced - and the success that it met up with, and decided to create some rather odd toilet items herself.

We believe that you will certainly enjoy having a look at her range.

As well as being an excellent serious illustrator Mabel is also very gifted with the camera. We have commissioned several of these other works from her and will be adding them, in the coming weeks to our growing line.

Mabel would very much welcome any comments or even any ideas that you might have. As she herself says "it is the wonderful public out there that make it all possible!"

Good on you Mabel! Drop her a line on

Ethel Stockton

Ethel originated from Norwich in Norfolk. Her family owned a tearoom by the Broads. Her early years were spent painting and drawing highly imaginative pictures, many of which were put on show on the tearoom walls. Her talent was evident to all and she soon started to sell many of her works.

Now living just outside Brighton Ethel runs her own gallery. Very much a non-conformist, she has a talent for producing some rather odd pieces of work as well! One particularly strange phase was her Rubber Bottle series - of which we include two examples. Another was her Classic Migraine study. This shows a dog’s head as seen through a migraine 'aura'. "Suffering from this condition" she says "actually opened up a totally new world of imagery to me - a world viewed, you could say, from the other side of the brush".

You can say that again Ethel!

As well as a talented artist Ethel is also a musician and sculpter! Clever lady! We love her and I think you will too!

Percival Duncan McKensie

Percy's family originally came from Edinburgh in Scotland. Later settling into the south east of England they set up a successful basket weaving business.

Percy attended the Longmere Lodge private school in Brempton. Early back there his tutors remembered him for his outstanding artistic talent.

He was able to produce sculptures from the most unusual of mediums. For a dare he was once asked to produce, and successfully as well, a figurine carved from rock solid dried out custard! Fact!

Nice one Percy!

His artwork is also somewhat different as well. This you will find out as we will be featuring more and more of it!

Percy is a lovely guy with a mischievous sense of humour. This he brings into his work. His has been very successful in America with his 'Flying Laptops' series of illustrations. We have commissioned his 'Demise of the Desktop' which will soon be on this site. So watch this space!
